CONTROLS:

W AND D/ ARROW KEYS - MOVE

SPACE - JUMP

LMB/ SHIFT - CHANGING WORLDS

So after watching YouTubers like Dani and Brackeys I got inspired to make my own game. This resulted in me landing on the "My First Game Jam Summer 2020" page with only 5 days left I thought I could make a game in this time. Well with this much time I could only make a short proof of concept/Demo with 2 tiny levels. This is my first game and I would love to get some feedback on what you guys think. The game is extremely incomplete with everything (literally everything) subject to change.

I would like to know what you guys think about the concept of the game as I would like to peruse this idea and make a complete game out of this. Your feedback and support would be appreciated to help me through this journey of learning Game Dev. Thank you for Playing!

This is a super cool idea! Kind of building off of the other suggestions, perhaps you could have "safe platforms" that are styled differently and are the same in both worlds? That way, a player would know they can switch freely and examine their options for moving forward? :)

I'm so glad you decided to upload! I think you should be very proud of having made something playable in such a short time, and I think you have a great foundation to build on here. The mechanics work great, and you even have animations! I agree that starting in an area where switching between worlds was safe would be an improvement, just to get the hang of things. But I had fun playing and I think short levels suit this kind of gameplay (my jam game has a similar mechanic and I honestly wish I'd made my levels shorter).

Good work and I'm looking forward to seeing where this idea goes!

Oh, okay, this took me a bit to figure out. Very neat! I like this idea a lot.

Feedback:

- Some explanation for the controls would be helpful. I didn't realize at first that clicking switched between worlds. (Though now that I've done that, I think I remember seeing you post progress on this in the Discord!)

- Maybe make it more clear where switching worlds could be helpful. And similarly, don't let the player fall into the void at the beginning of the level. That's where players want to try out the basic movement/mechanics, so generally the first part of a level will feel relatively safe.

So, I put some text over to show the controls but I think I didnt do it right while building the game, ill put the controls in the description of the game, thanks for pointing it out.

As for your second point of making clear where one should change worlds. I had that in mind and will be implementing something of that sort later on, as this was put together really quickly in less than 5 days. And I will also work on making the spawn safer.

Thanks a lot for checking out the game and leaving feedback, I appreciate it.

Completely understand, no worries!
